Infants (6 weeks – 12 months)
During these early stages, each day is filled with rapid growth and development. Salem Academy encourages social and language development by meeting the children’s needs within a caring relationship.
Toddlers (12 months – 30 months)
The toddler’s room is designed to provide a very warm soft language and rich environment to support nurturing interactions and the opportunities for sensory exploration and discovery. The program is designed for individual development at each child’s natural pace.
Preschoolers (2 1/2 – 5 years)
Our preschool program is designed for exploration and creative child development. Preschoolers engage in hands-on learning centers involving language, science, computers, art, music and movements, dramatic play, mathematics, etc. Our curriculum is designed to provide emotional support, such as a smile or a hug, to communicate and promote positive reinforcement. This teaches each child independence, which is necessary for growth, creative thinking, feelings of security, and continued success in academia.
Safety and Security:
At Salem Academy, our goal first-and-foremost is to provide a safe and secure environment for your child. As such, we have taken several measures to ensure that your child is in safe hands.
Each child must be checked in and out on our electronic card swipe security system like those used in hotels. Only the cardholder(s) will be able to drop off and pick up the child. No one else will be able to gain entry into the center without the staff’s approval. The director keeps an updated file of names, addresses, and phone numbers of authorized individuals for each child in case of an emergency. No child is released to an adult without proper authorization, Ever! Surveillance cameras have been installed and record up to six months of activity in and around the building.
Children may not be released to anyone whose behavior may be deemed as unreasonable or an imminent risk to the child.
Health:
Upon each child’s arrival, the teachers will conduct a daily health check to keep the children and teachers healthy and to prevent the spread of any illnesses or communicable diseases. Toys and other equipment will be sanitized on a daily basis and proper sanitizing solutions will be used. Promoting proper hand washing will be a part of your child’s daily routines.
